Free Survey Software
Google failed me today. As part of a school project, I was assigned a task to come up with a few choices for performing an online survey. I was under the impression that this would be a simple task with plenty of plausible solutions. My presumption was precisely backwards. After spending 20 minutes looking through Google's 40, or so, top hits, then trying different keywords and doing it again, I finally realized that there simply were not viable solutions for educational facilities to perform online surveys for free. It didn't take long to realize
- There are only about two decent online survey solutions
- There are zero free (for educational use) online survey solutions
- Somehow the words survey and poll became interchangeable
I actually found more hits about polls than I did surveys. In my mind, a survey is used for a detailed analysis of something and a poll would be used simply for showing raw data. I will be performing a more exhaustive search because there is a possibility I wasn't being descriptive enough in my queries. I suppose I could check SourceForge as well. If I don't manage to find any leads then I will be forced to start my own free survey project.
